PBA's Executive Protection Advancement Program (RPL)

[THIS SESSION HAS EXPIRED!]
Please review the calendar for upcoming programs.

Course Description:

The Professional Bodyguard Association's (PBA) Executive Protection Advancement Program (RPL) "Recognition of Prior Learning" is laid out in the form of a week-long assessment whereby the students will demonstrate the knowledge they have already acquired, while an ongoing assessment of their skills and attitudes will be performed before an appropriately qualified assessor.

It goes without saying that there will be some areas that the instructor team will need to step in and help guide the candidates along the way, especially in the area of British law and how it affects them when working as a bodyguard while in the U.K.

The instructor team will also take you through conflict management & resolution skills; in addition to 30 hours completing the FPOSi (First Person on Scene Intermediate) medical course.

The overall goal for the program is to compile, complete and execute a fully working & detailed operational plan for a Close Protection Operation.

This will include the following:

  • A full threat and risk assessment
  • In-depth principal profile
  • Route reconnaissance
  • Venue reconnaissance
  • Linear maps & route plans
  • Safe driving and convoy drills
  • Embus & Debus procedures
  • Documented safe havens
  • Surveillance & Counter Surveillance
  • Staffing rotations & budgets
  • Equipment check lists
  • Medical care (first aid procedures) and plans

Candidates will have to set up an “Ops Room”, prepare SOPs, demonstrate search procedures, radio and communication techniques as well as a whole host of other skills and attributes that relate to the professional security operative.

This is not a course for the beginner. You will be working long, hard hours and will be pressure tested along the way. This is a fantastic course, developed over many years of practical operational experience. Upon completion, you will receive the internationally recognized BTEC Level 3 Certificate for Working as a Close Protection Operative in the Private Security Industry (QCF) along with a Level 3 Award in First Person on Scene Intermediate (RQF).
