Austin White has over thirty years of service with local, state, and federal agencies and the private sector in various public safety disciplines. He is currently assigned as the Special Agent in Charge of the Virginia State Police (VSP) Criminal Intelligence Division and holds the rank of Lieutenant. He manages the VSP's components of five FBI Joint Terrorism Task Forces, the Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management team, the Field Intelligence Unit, and the Special Projects Unit of the Virginia Fusion Center, where he is also the Deputy Director. He serves on several national boards, including the National Fusion Center Association's Private Sector Engagement and Maritime Intelligence Committees. He is also the Vice President for U.S. Affairs of the Global Shield Network. He is a technical instructor and instructor trainer specializing in intelligence analysis, incident response, and emergency services coordination for Louisiana State University and the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Center for Domestic Preparedness.

Lieutenant White's dignitary protection experience comes from the Virginia State Police Executive Protective Unit as a shift leader protecting the Governor and First Family of the Commonwealth and the private sector, where he was Vice President of Investigations for American Security Group in Richmond, Virginia. He has provided specialized dignitary protection training and services to the United States Diplomatic Security Service, United States Secret Service, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Virginia State Police, Virginia Capitol Police, and a host of other public and private sector entities.

A certified Associate Emergency Manager, Continuity of Operations Specialist, and National Crime Prevention Specialist, Lieutenant White holds a Master of Public Safety degree from the University of Virginia, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Tech, and the Advanced Professional Series and Professional Development Series post-graduate certificates from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Emergency Management Institute. He is a graduate of the National Criminal Justice Command College and is a member of the Omicron Sigma Sigma National Honor Society. He is a recipient of several national awards, including the Dr. Richard W. Kobetz Achievement Award for Outstanding Professional Accomplishments and the Anti-Defamation League's Shield Award. He is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute and a member of the Nine Lives Associates and the Academy of Security Educators and Trainers.
